advances.in/psychology is gold open access — every article is free to read, with no subscription. To make that work, we charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) to authors of accepted manuscripts.

What the APC covers
- Open access publication under a CC-BY 4.0 licence — you keep copyright.
- Compensation for editors and peer reviewers (why we pay them).
- Typesetting, hosting, indexing in Scopus / OpenAlex / Google Scholar, long-term archiving (British Library, Internet Archive), and DOI registration.
- Fast turnaround — currently averages around 10.9 days to first decision, 4.8 months from submission to acceptance, and 8.8 days from acceptance to publication.
