How do I become a reviewer for the journal?

Updated 23 May 2026 · reviewers · onboarding · registration · advances-pub

Thank you for your interest in reviewing for Advances.in / Psychology. Becoming a reviewer is a single step: register on our submission platform.

Where to register

Sign up at advances.pub. The platform handles both submissions and reviews — once your account is set up you can be matched to manuscripts that fit your expertise.

When you register, please:

  • Use your institutional email if you have one.
  • Add your keywords / topics of expertise as accurately as you can — the editorial team uses these to match reviewers to manuscripts.
  • Keep your ORCID and current affiliation up to date.

What happens next

Once your account is active, the editorial team will contact you when a submission matches your expertise. There is no separate application or interview step; review invitations come by email when a relevant manuscript is in the queue.

You're free to decline any invitation without explanation — we'd much rather have a clear "no, not this one" than a delayed review.

After completing a review

Reviews that meet our quality bar are compensated. See How are reviewers paid? for the process (invoice form, bank transfer / PayPal / donation options) and When do I get paid? for timing.

We also publish the criteria we use to assess review quality — see What are the quality requirements for reviews?.

If you have any questions about registration that aren't covered here, just reply to this email and our editorial office will help.

Still need help? Submit a request and we'll get back to you.
